USAWCT still has openings on both the Team Connecticuts attending the National Freestyle Cadet Dual Tournament in Kansas City and the National Freestyle Junior Dual Touranment in Oklahoma City this summer. Roster spots on these teams are being opened up to other New England state wrestlers also. These tournaments are highly competitive tournaments featuring state teams from all regions of the USA. In order to get the official Team Connecticut singlet you must participate in one of these two tournaments or attend the nationals in Fargo in late July.

Below are a couple of links for you to check out pertaining to these two tournaments. The weight classes open for the junior duals are 98, 105, and 152. Spots for the cadet duals open are 84, 105, 130, 135, 140, 160, 189, 215 and 285. USAWCT is opening these spots to anyone from any of the New England states and is still recruiting heavily within the state of CT. A wrestle off may be required if USAWCT gets contacted by two kids for the same weight. Sarah Jadach is the state vice chairman and the membership director. She is handling all the financial and travel arrangements. Her contact info is;

Sarah Jadach Membership Director (203) 735-7175 (203) 231-3285 20 Lakeview Terr.Derby, CT, 06418 Sjadach23@aol.com

Don't worry about the deadlines, they have been extended. However, Sarah can not wait too much longer due to transportation considerations. Contact her as soon as possible if you may be interested, or, know someone that is.

The list of participants has not been finalized. Some of the juniors that have voiced an interest in going include West Johnson, Anthony Ricco, Charlie Costanzo, Anthony Valles, Andrew Ford, Alex Kappel, Lucas Bowman, Humphrey Swift and Seth Rothberg for the juniors. Other possible junior team members include Andrew Lischke, Colin Feeley, Mike Frick and Angel Lahara.

Cadets considering or committed to go include Andrew Chase, Josh Dess, Ross Spencer, Colton Dempsey, Ian McAllister, Evan Fraser, Kevin Barrucci, Justin Scalise and Sean O'Connell.

This is a great opportunity to compete at the highest levels. Many of the wrestlers who went last year are going again this year. That should tell you that not only was it great competition but the guys had fun too.

Wrestlers born between 1989 and 1991 and still enrolled in high school are classified as juniors. Wrestlers born in 1992 and 1993 are classified as cadetd for the current wrestling season.
