4th Annual WARRIOR WRESTLING Weekend Festival
MAY 30 & 31, 2009
DELAWARE VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
MILFORD, PA
Dear Coaches:
In an effort to bring teams eager to compete against the best teams on the East Coast,
Delaware Valley presents the fourth year of what we hope to be the ultimate venue for
competitive summer wrestling, the Warrior Wrestling ¡§Weekend Warrior¡¨ Wrestling
Festival. This year, on Saturday, we will run a one-day tournament with a maximum of
16 teams participating; this will allow us to run a competitive and efficient tournament.
In addition, on Sunday, we will run an individual tournament for senior and junior
high wrestlers.
The format of the dual tournament will be dictated by the number of teams participating.
As teams enter, I will frequently e-mail coaches to alert them of the changes in format
and additional matches. We do know that the first rounds will pair teams from different
regions that do not see each other during the winter sport season. Once the teams
compete in the first rounds, they will then be seeded out according to talent and record.
Each team will receive numerous bouts and leave this tournament satisfied with the mat
time and competition level. The individual tournament will be double-elimination with
each wrestler guaranteed two matches.
Our location lends itself to attracting top caliber teams. We are within 1 hour 15 minutes
from tradition-rich Lehigh Valley (PA) and border both New York and New Jersey; this
we hope will attract a wide variety of talent. For families, we are within 45 minutes of
beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack, Woodbury Commons Shopping Outlets (NY), and
Tannersville Shopping Outlets, just to name of few. Accommodations will be sent to
participating teams.
Please fill out the attached rosters to the best of your knowledge. One roster will be for
the program, while the other is the weigh-in sheet. The weigh-in sheet does not have to
accompany your registration, just bring it to the actual weigh-in. Keep in mind that this
is an open tournament, so students entering 9th grade will be able to wrestle. Please fill
your roster even if you have to combine with another team or bring in other individual
wrestlers. We just ask that your team rating reflects every wrestler in your line-up.
Send both forms and a check (made out to ¡§Warrior Wrestling¡¨) for $325.00 to:
Chris Ross
Tournament Director
106 Mountain View Court
Matamoras, PA 18336
The same address will be used for the individual tournament. If you are registering for
the individual tournament, please fill out the individual tournament form. The cost of
entry in the individual tournament is $7.00 if you participated in the team duals or $15.00
(pre-registration) if you are wrestling on Sunday only. Please try to pre-register for the
individual tournament so that it can be run as efficiently as possible on Sunday.
The cost for walk-ins will be 20.00.
Any questions or comments can be e-mailed to rosskings@yahoo.com or 570-491-9060
