5th annual Jersey Shore National Wrestling Duals
Date: August 7-9, 2009
Deadline for all team entries is July 31

Eligibility:

Each club / state team is encouraged to represent 3 divisions

Divisions and Weight Classes:

High School, grades 9-12, 3 lb. allowance, 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, 285

Middle School, grades 6-9, 2 lb. allowance, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 112, 119, 127, 135, 142, 154, 165, 180, 230

Elementary School, grades 4-6, 1 lb. allowance, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 112, 119, 125, 132, 160

Location: Long Branch High School, Long Branch, NJ (located 2 blocks from the beach).

Date: August 7-9, 2009

Cost: $600 per team (each team may have a maximum of 18 wrestlers - 14 starters and 4 reserves). This is an average of $33 per wrestler for a team of 18 wrestlers. Please note that if you want to bring additional alternates, the fee is $40 / additional wrestler and we suggest that you try to place the athlete on a team that has an incomplete roster. This can be done at our mandatory meeting prior to the start of the event.

Weigh-in: Scales for all divisions are located adjacent to the arena on the main floor. There is one weigh-in for the entire event. You must be wearing a wristband to weigh in.

The following weight allowance will be implemented for each division:

Elementary school - 1 lb
Middle school - 2 lbs
High school - 3 lbs.

Format: Championship tournament format with complete consolation rounds. Every team is guaranteed at least 4 matches

Matches:

High School Division - 1-2-2
Middle School Division - 1-11/2, 11/2
Elementary School Division - 1-1-1

Awards: Participants from the top 4 place finishing teams in each division will receive awards as well as official recognition as All-Americans.

Team Awards: The top 4 place finishing teams will receive a beautiful wrestling statue

The 1st annual Victor Summer Duals Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Weigh-ins and times:
7:00 – 8:15 a.m. NYS weights. Coaches meeting will be at 8:30 a.m. to divide into pools and determine team numbers. E-mail by Friday Aug 14th with your line-up. Wrestling will begin at 9:00 a.m. on four mats for six rounds with 1½ hours allotted per round finishing the tournament by 6:00 p.m. assuming all goes well.

Eligibility & format:
The tournament will be run with two pools of five teams each wrestling each other for five rounds of wrestling, the sixth round will be a cross over round, were each team will wrestle the equivalent team from the other pool. The tournament will be a VARSITY LEVEL TOURNAMENT. If you are interested in participating please contact Craig Kaper ASAP. kaperc@victorschools.org

Awards:
Trophies will be given to the top four teams; Coaches will vote on light, middle, and heavyweight MOWs. The 96 and 275 weight classes will be scoring weights.

Entry Fee: $275.00 made payable to: Victor Wrestling Boosters: Entry fee will be used to cover the expense of officials.

WEAVER ELITE WRESTLING CLUB will be hosting its 3rd annual dual team tournament at Bethlehem Catholic High School on Saturday August 1st,2009.

Only 10 teams will be accepted into this tournament. Each team guaranteed 5 matches.

2009 Long Island Wrestling Association Summer Heat Folkstyle Tournament

Divisions: 9-12th (Grade in Sept. 2009) and Open

Directions: Meadowbrook Pkwy to exit M4. West on Hempstead Tpke. Hofstra will be about ¾ of a mile on your right. Ask for the PFC (old gymnasium).
Eligibility: Those entering 9-12th Grade in Sept. 2009. Graduated seniors must compete in Open Division.
USAW Card: A USA Wrestling competitors card is required. A one time event card may be purchased for $10.

activities that involve risk of serious injury, including permanent, temporary, total or partial disability, disfigurement, paralysis and any other losses to person or property, including death, and that severe social and economic losses may result not only from Releasor’s own actions, inactions or negligence, but also from the actions, inactions or negligence of others notwithstanding the rules of play or the condition of the premises or of any equipment used. HAMPTON BEACH, NH WRESTLING TOURNAMENT
Date – August 1, 2009

Style – Beach Wrestling

Registration – 9 AM-10:30 AM

Rules Clinic – 11:00 am

Wrestling Begins – 11:30am


Divisions: Junior High School, High School, Open & Women

Junior High School-grades 6-8: must be enrolled in Junior High School for 2009-2010 season

High School -grades 9-12: must be enrolled in HS for 2009-2010 season

Open – open to anyone over the age of 18

Women - must be enrolled in HS for 2009-10 season, or open to anyone over the age of 18

Uniforms – athletic swim trucks for men; one or two piece bathing suit for women

Wt Classes – determined by USAW Officials by “sight” [no weigh in] after registration

Match time – 1 / 3 min period [maximum], double elimination bracketing

Awards - medals will be awarded to the top 3 place finishers in each category

Affiliation – contestants must be current USA Wrestling members in order to participate (cards will be available for purchase on the day of the event)

Fees - $15 registration


Rules:

Wrestling is on a sand surface, with a 20' diameter circle marked in the sand.

Matches start in the standing position and last 3 minutes.

Athletes may not kick, punch, or attack the face or hair.

To win a Beach Wrestling match, an athlete must do one of the following:

Score a fall by forcing the opponent's shoulders to the sand
Score two takedowns
Score two throws
When the opponent is penalized twice for fleeing the competition area
Scoring one takedown and having one fleeing call against the opponent
If the three minute period ends in a draw, the athletes wrestle in overtime until the
winning points / fall are attained

Divisions
Kids Division- ages 4-13 starts at 10:00am
High school Division- ages 14-18 (must enrolled in HS for the 2009-2010 season)starts at 10:00am

These two tournaments are being held in the John
Marshall High School gymnasium. Home of the Lilac All-City Tournament! We are finally able to do it big in the city of Rochester!!!

Staggered start times for the younger kids and older kids. Read for more details below
„h Wrestlers must be going into Grades 1-8. Ages 5-14.
„h Beautiful Medals for ALL places. Team trophies for 1st through 3rd place.
„h NO high school wrestling experience! 5-7 Age group have a special sign up question. NO entry fee for adults!
„h August 1st and August 8th. Conveniently located off of Route 104 at John Marshall HS 180 Ridgeway Ave. Rochester, NY 14615.
5-10 yr olds please check in between 7am and 8am. 11 and older please check in before 11am.
„h Entry Fee $20 per wrestler. 90% of wrestlers will wrestle at least 4 matches. No one wrestles more than 6 matches.
„h Deadline for registration is the Wednesday prior to the tournament. If paying by credit card you may enter before 12 noon that Thursday.

The Kings College Tournament in PA on August 2nd has been POSTPONED until September 20th due to a facility issue.

Titan Toughman Tournament in NY on 8/15/09

There will be a MS & HS folkstyle tournament held at the T-N-T training facility on August 15th - weigh-ins are from 8-10 am, wrestling to start at 11 am. It will be an OPEN tournament (no AAU or USA wrestling card necessary), madison weights, $20 entry fee, WALK-INs are welcome w/o penalty.
