Bacon Academy wins ECC wrestling tournament

Waterford — Bacon Academy won the Eastern Connecticut Conference wrestling tournament Saturday at Waterford High School, dethroning four-time defending champion Ledyard.
In the process, however, the Colonels helped the Bobcats win the ECC Large Division title, too.
Bacon, which finished with 192.5 points, came into the weekend with one divisional loss and needed to beat unbeaten Waterford by two places in the tournament to overtake the Lancers. That’s exactly what happened as Ledyard finished second with 186.5 points and Waterford followed with 182.
Montville finished fourth overall with 133.5 points and clinched the Small Division title.
East Lyme’s Ryan Clarke successfully defended his 140-pound title and was named the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler.

if the ref called it potentially dangerous and the kid got hurt... nothing would've happened to bowman. the ref called it ILLEGAL and thats why he got disqualified from the match

Great tournament hosted by the Waterford guys. Heard a lot about the 89 bracket being the toughest only to see Battissa win by forfeit. Clark is the real deal and man the 140 is a strong bracket.
