good matches with winters beating lancaster and carpenter at 152, brian jennings beating fontaine, Pedraza whooped on Maire and almost had costanzo on his back, Damici beating summers and ferrante, Abbate pinning vernik.

Abbate deserved OW after pinning Vernik. I think Winters (5th seed) from Danbury could have been considered after he knocked off the 4th, 1st, and 2nd seeds to win the championship.

winters isnt good enough to be considered ow. i thought damici could have got it since that was the best match debatable with the abbate vernick match...vernick and abbate probably the two best wrestlers in the tourney, but ferrante and damaci put on a highly skilled match, could be the final of the open....and i guess sargenti will have a cake walk through the opens with no frick there....i gotta say im pretty dissapointed, ct lost two of its top three wrestlers because they didnt make weight this weekend. i was looking forward to west and castanza, and not just the hype of the matches but their representation of ct will be missed come new englands....thats terrible not making weight, too many good wrestlers have eliminated themselves from the states because of that over the past few years, and that second weigh in on the saturday is a stupid rule, i mean really what a stupid rule...friggin boxers weigh in like three days before they fight. I think its meant to make it so kids dont cut more weight then whats considered not healthy, but all it is; is an extra day the wrestlers gotta starve...b.s. I dont think the people who make these rules have ever wrestled.

Yea they didn't make weight, But you know what if alot of these kids didn't suck down 3 to 4 weight classes from begining of training to first match and wrestled up 1 or maybe 2 weight classes from there bottom weight. This crap wouldn't happen..A couple kids missed weight but there are still plenty of kids that moved to the opens that will represent CT just fine.. I'm sure those kids feel bad enough not making weight and advancing. So Just leave it at that.
