i propose we have a post season challange competition where, for instance, all the guys in LLs who think they can beat the guys in S or have guys who could not make weight officially wrestle the guys who took their place at the open. in other words let some guys have their day in court. it could be at one school or at different schools or it can be in the wrestling room.
does anyone like that idea or is it my old fashion way of settling disputes.

But..............is this in keeping with CIAC rules? That seems to be the biggest concern lately. Where would the participants practice?
I'm sure all participants would be more than happy to get their respective club's coaching under your proposal. Of course, this would create a whole new string of bo-hooing from certain quarters.
Great idea, but would be far too complicated for the CT wrestling community.

in CT that would be almost impossible to pull off. too many push-overs in Higher Positions. CIAC doesnt even acknowledge the NHSCA and I have to say that is quite the disappointment. You cant even wear your team singlet when wrestling in an NHSCA tournament if you're from CT

here's the way i envision it: right now, different teams are practicing with eachother to prepare for the open. no big deal. and before i go on, i don't pretend to know ciac's position on this or if they have one but i don't see how it would offend any charter...so there is a 'challenge board' where upon some guy wants to wrestle some other guy. the weights are not as important. sort of like madison weight idea. roughly the same weight. you sign up on the board on pintowin forum and it's accepted or not. to me, the issue will be scheduling more than everything.
a guy from staples wants to challenge a guy from danbury. they pick a school/coach/gym/club, whatever. they have a mutually agreed upon ref(s) and table. maybe they tape it and maybe they sell tickets! you're not joe from staples, you're just joe. maybe you wear your singlet from school or maybe it's like wrestling camp and you wear shorts. see. people hear about the challenges, maybe knapp offers his space and has a dual meet of challenges. you could even have 3 boouts at 135.
it puts certain matters to rest.

yes but joining a club for a match and the distance and all that. it would be good for a club to host the 'challenge' but while i agree the competiton is good at these private clubs, the one time nature of these challenges is what seems most appealing.
anyway, it's just an idea.
