Thank-you to all the youth officials this year. The professionalism with the way you handle critical situations should not go unnoticed. Whether you were dealing with a crying 6-yr. old or a grumpy coach like me, you all handled the task with authority and compassion. Officiating is never glamourous nor, a job that will never make everyone happy. Your boss should be proud of all you. Some of you could walk into a high school gym tomorrow and do big match. Several of you guys had wrestled Friday and Saturday and then came back to work twelve hours and never complained. Being a referee requires quick thinking, fairness, and above all control - three qualiities that are imparitive in life. Good luck in all that you do and hope you all have the best future in whatever you strive to do.

Coaches and parents throughout the year talked and commented how well a job all of these high school kids did. I never heard any negative comments about any of them. Excellent job guys, keep up the great work.

some of those kids did a better job than the high school ref's. maybe because they were not so impartial.

Thanks guys. I'm sure all the refs greatly appreciate your support. It's not easy being a ref, you know. Not everybody is going to leave the match happy, and even if you made all the RIGHT calls, somebody is going to claim that you made some horrible calls. I know that I had made a few shaky calls that were almost immediately waved off simply because of being so excited and anxious to be refereeing such an INTENSE match. Luckily I had another ref to back me up and pick up on what was a good and bad call. And it goes vice versa for when the other ref was officiating a match and he made a call based simply on anticipation, I was there to let him know whether it was a good or bad call. We're still young but we show a promising future. When we have older men with years of built-up testosterone, the pressure can tend to get to us but we do everything in our power to oversee a fairly judged match. We only hope to one day replace some of the less-talented high school officials and be on the same level with names such as Bob Woods or Ray Santiago. Let us hope that we can make it there in due time... Once again, thank you. We appreciate all of your support in a sport where an official makes a call based on pure judgement, unlike like football or basketball. (both really good sports though, not taking anything from those who participate in them)
Thank you, and good day
