Hi all, I'm looking for fundraising ideas for both my wrestling club and team. We need to raise money for both in-season and out of season trips. Theres a wealth of knowledge on this forum and was hoping you guys could tell me of some fundraisers that worked well, maybe even ways to save money for national trips with a team of wrestlers.

you could see blood and semen...lol no but Ive wrestled for a few different schools, I didnt coordinate the methods for generating money but selling things like poinsettias and candy, the candy one i don't like, doesn't really work well and when I think of it I think of little league. And wrestlers selling flowers....I dunno but has worked in the past. Hosting tournaments is usually a good way, a bit extreme for people who have never done it but that's just a few.

A well run tournament is almost always profitable. Usually the more work you put in up front the better the product in the end - admission, entry fees, concession, 50 / 50 raffle, or a door prize like a camp scholarship, etc... Some youth tournaments with well over 300 entrants raise in excess of $5000. The off season freestyle tournaments usually generate $1000 - $2000 with around 100 - 150 entrants. (Usually an older crowd with less fans = less profit at concession and less profit from admission).

We need more freestyle tournaments this off season. Bristol plans on running one on April 19, 2009 @ BEHS. Exact details should be out any day now. We will be only the second freestyle tournament so far, so there is definitely a need.
