I have been wondering for a long time why do people say bump on posts?

when ppl say bump it means they want the post to stop thread to end. so when you see bump it basically means that person doesn't want anyone to make another post on the subject.

No; "bump" is just a filler word to move the thread back to the top of the page so that more people see it.
