I was wondering what people's thoughts were for the best training or type of wrestling for a high school wrestler who has only had a few years of wrestling experience. If you want to become a better wrestler but just started as a freshmen in high school, what would be the best way to improve the quickest?

try and do a spring / summer or fall camp to keep yourself active and working a few good moves, you don't need a lot of moves but you need to be able to execute the ones you know quickly when given the opportunity. Lifting will help your strenght but make sure to keep streching for your flexibility. You'll improve keep up the hard work and proper attitude

with this being your first year, you should stick to folkstyle. Go to tournaments, camps, and clubs. But you should stay away from freestyle until you become more experienced with folkstyle.

whatever your move is from neutral, down and up, practice those moves over and over and over. learn the counters to each and the recounters. most guys win with the same moves. watch films of high level wrestlers. you will see that the basics are all always there. and of course, there's no substitute for endurance.

Thanks for the input. Did camps freshmen, sophomore summer and did go to Competitive Edge camp last year; will probably do again this year. Will maybe be at 125 next year. Live in New Haven County.
