Wrestling Start Time: 10am ET

Hudson, Ohio 44236
Weight Classes:48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 67, 70, 73, 76, 79, 82, 86, 90, 95, 102, 110, 120, 130, 150, HWT
Eligibility: Participants must be currently enrolled in grades K-6th grade. (No 7th or 8th grade wrestlers permitted)
Rosters, Alternates
•Coaches will submit via email their team roster of participants by Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 to Mark Soucek at mark@turftrimmers.com, (see page 4 for roster sheet template)
•Roster Fillers/Alternates: The purpose of this tournament is to provide ample wrestling opportunities against experienced wrestlers; as such, our desire is to field a full 16 bracket in each and every weight class. Should your team have an opening on its team roster which prevents you from filling a weight class, then your program can recruit an alternate wrestler to participate with your program during the event. These “Roster Fillers” must be flagged as such in your official team roster which is submitted prior to the event since the “Roster Fillers” will not be counted toward the team score. “Roster Fillers” remain eligible to earn an individual trophy within their weight class.
•In submitting the team roster, the coach verifies that each of their wrestlers made the scratch weight for the weigh class at which they intend to compete at some point in time during the period of Saturday Nov 14th – Wed Nov 18th.
Team Check In/Weight Recertification
•All head coaches will check in with the tournament director during the morning of November 22nd.
During the checkin process, the head coach must have each of his wrestlers present for weight recertification. In order to recertify, the wrestler must not weigh 1 lb over the weight class in which they were assigned on the official team roster submitted by their Head Coach. (for example. A 48lb class wrestler must weigh 49.0 or less at recertification. If the wrestler
weighs 49.1, they will not be eligible to compete in the 48lb weight classification
Seeding: Top 6 in each weight class are seeded. Seeding determined by a) placement at OAC, PA or WV Grade School State Championship during the 2008/9 season and b) win/loss pct for 2008/9 season (must have competed in at least 20 matches). Wrestlers who finished in the top 6 at the OAC, PA, or WV Grade School Championships will be seated first.
The remaining seats will be distributed based upon the previous season win/loss pct. Ties will be determined based upon win/loss pct and total matches. Coaches will need to submit their wrestler’s statistics as part of their Official Team Roster
(see page 3)
Team Scores: Top 6 finishers in each weight class will contribute points to the overall team score. Points are awarded based
upon final placement in the weight class
• 1st Place: 10 points
• 2nd Place: 8 points
• 3rd Place: 6 points
• 4th Place: 4 points
• 5th Place: 2 points
• 6th Place: 1 point
Awards: Team awards will be distributed to the top 3 teams. Individual awards will be distributed to the top 5 wrestlers.
Team Registration Fees: Team registration fee is $250. Payment in full must be made by November 15th. Full payment is required in order to secure participation in this tournament. Registration is closed once 16 teams have submitted registration forms and payments. Teams which submit registrations forms after the tournament is filled will be placed on
a waiting list.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received by Oct 15th in order to receive a full reimbursement of their registration fee.
Cancellations received after Oct 15th will result in forfeiture of their registration fee.
Instructions: Provide the required information for each weight class which you intend to compete during the “Clash of the Titans” Invitational Tournament. For wrestlers that you are requesting to be considered for seeding purposes, please fill out the appropriate statistics from the 2008/9 season. Coaches will submit via email their team roster of participants by Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 to Mark Soucek at mark@turftrimmers.com
