yes they do, but you gotta realize one thing, they have every year asked for people and clubs to step up and offer thier venue and help to host a nutmeg tourney and year after year only the same few offer, so its not thier fault, its the rest of ct's fault.

I live on the east side and have had many chances to host a tournament. Anybody from the east side could host an event. I think I may be the farthest from these events and am more than happy to travel the 1-2 hrs. I'm sure if a club wanted to host one this year it could be arranged.

We have all done our share of travelling over the years, including PA,NJ,NY, and VA Beach. Beef, you've probably travelled more than anyone between your 3 guys. All's I'm saying is The "Nutmeg" series should be spread geographically throughout the "Nutmeg" state. C'mon ECC schools with big gyms! Waterford, Fitch immediately come to mind. Speaking of Fitch........RHAM's gym is big enough as well. What about you St. B's? You've lost the class S tournament, here's a chance to step up.
On a side note........Gary, real men do in fact eat quiche, and "Alderman125" is never, ever going to be a valid user name again!

In all due respect our gym could be big enough, the problem is our bleacher space. We can not hold more than 150 in those bleachers. If we could we would have the perfect space for it and States. But these guys are right just like States it comes down to who steps up and who doesn't. I like the jump on Alderman part too. He is the perfect kid to pick on. Good luck Jake!!!

This is probably going to be dragged through this site and taken the wrong way, anyway here is why the tournaments are West of the CT river.
First I live two miles from the NY boarder, I have traveled enough for this sport over the years and I do not want to get up at 5:00 am to travel to the east part of our state to run a tournament for free. Yes for free, I do not get paid to run these tournaments, they actually cost me money between gas and having to buy dinner for my wife who helps me on theses Sundays. The clubs pay $2.00 per wrestler basically to pay for the medals.
Second the Mass kids have not supported our event over the last several years, they run clinics on these Sundays, therefore they do not come to our event.
Third, we get many kids from NJ & Long Island to come, which provides really good competition.
Fourth, many clubs that stepped up over the last four years have provided good help in running the tournaments, during the non wrestling season, which makes my life easier.
Finally, clubs that do a good job only lose their date if they chose to give it up, which non of these clubs have decided to give up their dates.

Yes I did edit my own post. He He! Thanks to Mark for doing this and I wouldn't care if they were all in Danbury. Now if anybody wanted to hold one on this side I'm sure we could get it done and give Mark a weekend off. I would stop getting dinner for Nacy and bring peanut butter and jelly. LOL Alderman125 had to much quiche

If you go to the USAWCT website and click on event schedule it will bring up the flyers for each of the tournaments. Each flyer has the location and address.
