I am interested in ny details of history associated with the Bengal Manor. This was once owned by my great grandmother, Charlotte Isabella Newman. I can recall my mother describing her visits there as a young girl in the late 1890's. I have my great grandmothers will in which she passes on Bengal Manor, Kingthorne Close, Kingthorne Cottage, Globe Field and Orchard Cottage to her daughter, granddaughter and husband, Philip H. Newman.
Does anyone have any advice for me to search out more history of these places? I have been in touch with the current residents of the manor but have been unsuccesfull in obtaining more history prior to 1890 from local authorities.
