In 1934, William Hutton Hepplewhite, a retired Inspector of Mines, died at Bengal Manor, Greens Norton. His death was registered by 'M.A.Hutton, housekeeper'. We think that William was my husband's grandfather and that M.A. Hutton was Margaret Ann Hutton, his grandmother. If this is so, then my husband's father, Horace Donald Hutton also lived in Greens Norton and went to Towcester Grammar School from about 1923 - 1927. He then joined the Midland Bank. We would be interested to know if there are any records in the village which could help us to sort this out. We're fascinated because in 1901, the census seems to show William living with two women (married to Mary Ellen but not to Margaret Ann!) and having 12 children between them! He must have had a busy, if somewhat complicated life!

I'm hoping that we will be able to visit Green's Norton towards the end of April for my birthday treat. The walk looks great and a drink in the pub to follow sounds even better. Thankyou for a great web site - someone has put a lot of effort in to make it really interesting.

Regards

Denny Hutton.
