I wondering if someone would be able to email me photos of the effigies (Sir Thomas Greene and Lady Greene) in St Bartholomew's church. Other photos of the inside of the church would also be great. I'm probably descended from Sir Thomas somehow, but I'm not exactly sure how. My gg-grandfather, ggg-grandfather and gggg-grandfather's were all named Thomas Green for one thing (although it doesn't really prove much except they liked the name Thomas!). So far the best my cousins and I can do is to track our 4th g-grandfather to Vermont (b abt 1780, died abt 1846 in Missouri).
I was hoping to visit Greens Norton Village on my recent trip to England, but unfortunately the time just ran out! (And I do note there was a request similar to this some years back, but unfortunately, that person's email is now disconnected.) Any help you can give me would be much appreciated!

As you may know, we have recently restored the Green Effigies and they are properly displayed in the church, thanks to the Heritage lottery Fund.
I have a load of stuff, old photos and info on the Greenes, including an old print which was incorrectly attributed to Sir Henry Greene. There have been been a lot of errors about the Greenes as several of the chroniclers got their facts wrong and Lora La Mance (bless her1) repeated these.
We have recently done a Family tree to display in the church which is as accurate as we can make it at present. There is also a variant tree which includes Queen Catherine Parr, who was a Greene.
As far as we can tell, this Greens Norton branch died out with Catherine Parr's Grandfather who had no male heirs. As they held the manor for over 200 years and had numerous offspring, there is always the possibility that there may have been male descendants on a different branch, but the records of the time were only interested in the direct male descendants.
I can't attach anything to this response, but email me at mporest@aol.com , and I'll send you what I have.
Best wishes.
