I'm debating whether or not to buy the limited edition GI JOE miniseries DVD set.
Did Rhino totally RUIN the episodes (like they did with many Transformers episodes) by adding CRAPPY NEW SOUND EFFECTS onto the 5.1 track? Is there an option to hear the original sound mix in 2.0????
hey man, I got the mini series and its excellent. Yes, Kid Rhino did do dumb stuff with the sound effects that are both annoying and piss you off. The first thing they did wrong with the sound effects was that they made the laser noise from the Joe and Cobra guns sound like AK-47's with a ratta tat tat sound. Also, when a M.O.B.A.T. or H.I.S.S fire, some of the shots hit the ground and Rhino made it sound like cheap fireworks. I think they also tried messing around with vechile noises but I would need to watch the series again to confirm that. Overall it is the original Joe and it is good because you don't need to worry about falling asleep in front of it like I do trying to stay up to watch the series on Cartoon Network.
