Any ideas????
HAVE YOU HEARD ANYTHING, I'M STUCK TOO. I THINK THE WEB SITE IS DEAD, ALOT OF THE LINKS DON'T WORK AND READING ON ONLY SAYS THINGS ABOUT WINDOWS 95 LIKE IT'S THE LATEST THING.
The modem is on PcChips M810LMR with 800 duron CPU, Pc133 memory, Win 98SE.
Installed itself on Com 4 but I do not think this port is recognised and also the IRQ may be wrong. Tried it on Com 2 but still will not work.
As a greenhorn can someone tell me how to change the IRQ because I have a feeling that this is the trouble.
Downloaded HSP Configurator but no info available and PcChips no help.
This is driving me mad!!
Can someone email me with suggestions of how to set up this modem?
Regards,
Syb
Still struggling with this Modem.
The installation appears to put the modem on a port with an IRQ and Windows assigns a different IRQ. Cannot change this in the normal way. How do I do this in BIOS?
Any help appreciated.
Syb.
Hi, I've just installed the same modem on exactly the same board. The installation went fine and you don't normally have to worry about which COM port to use as long as you don't have any conflicts with other devices, Windows should be able to detect you modem. If you are having problems with 'No Dial Tone' messages, (as I am), I have been told that this is due to lower line voltages used by cable companies (if you are on cable). I'm sorry but I don't have any answers to this and if anybody comes up with anything, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know. Thanks.

I need the driver for an HSP56MR modem for Windows 98. I'm unable to find it anywhere. This modem uses the new modem slot (AMR??). It's not an IDE or PCI. Just got this computer last week and was hooking up at 40K. Something hicuped and now I hook up at 28.8K
Please help!!! Thanks!
Hi,
I do have a driver for this modem, but I'm not sure if it's O.K. I have just installed this modem and driver but can't dial out because I keep getting 'No Dial Tone' errors. I saw on a site somewhere that this problem was common with this modem in the U.K. because of lower line voltages with cable companies (I'm with NTL) but they did not offer any solution. You are welcome to try my driver if you send me you e-mail addy.
