The fact that Poland is not solely responsible for Yuschenko's attempted coup d'etat does not mean that certain Poles don't have designs on gaining influence over Ukrainian politics. I wouldn't go far enough to claim that they want to occupy Ukraine, but I have to point out it has been a common enough affliction among Polish ruling circles throughout the time after they lost their claim to greatness in the 18th century. Witness the attempt to occupy Ukraine in 1919-20, negotiations with von Ribbentrop over the status of Ukraine in 1938-39, the pipeline diplomacy of the 1990s...
