I think this Ukrainian election is a question of the Russian Federation's security by surrounding it with NATO nations, by the way since when are Georgia and Azerbaijan part of Europe?, sending in Russian troops is only natural and should be done for Russia's integrity. If Yushchenko wins by Western patronization, then Russia should support Ukraine's southern and eastern regions in their call for autonomy and Russia should cut off Russian oil and energy resources to Yushchenko's Ukraine.
