I agree that Stalin was not an racist, he may have hated Poles a bit more because of the previous war, but after all the nation still exists. Had the Axis win the war, or at least hold that land for the next several years there wouldn't be much of a polish nation left. As for why there was People Republic of Poland, and not a Soviet Republic of Poland: I think Stalin cared a little about the oppinion of West back then.

Actually I have no answer for this, maybe because most of the nations you've mentioned were in Axis, or maybe they simply have healthier approach to the history...
As for Warsaw uprising: I think it was stupid waste of people, the best among the ones that survived previous 5 years... Home Army should have known that combining forces with Red Army is a stupid idea ("Operation Tempest"). | |
