The idea that the purpose of Tempest was to "combine forces" with the Red Army is ridiculous. The purpose of Tempest was to liberate Polish cities before the Red Army could do so, thereby presenting the Allies with a fait accompli and disrupting any potential political plans USSR might've had. Hence, it was inherently anti-Soviet in nature.
