Turbo clearance problems

The setup is A2 8v with ATP`s manifold and a T3 from a Saab 900 (which is pretty small). The compressor housing is abuot a 1/4 inch from the firewall, which is weird since the manifold was designed for this setup. First the turbo was touching the firewall at hard accelertion, then I reinforced the rear motor mount and the problem was solved. Now, I wanna change the turbo to bigger, either a super60 or a T3/T4 that definitely won`t clear. What do you guys think is wrong here or what could be the solution? How does a T3/T4 clears on your cars?
Also, I still need an answer for the G60 error codes. Oversteer, if you read this, I listed the codes in the "G60 error codes" post. thanx
