I was giving asm/c++ lectures about 2 years ago so it`s not a problem.
I`ll check manual later, but you`re right, you have to put breakpoints in different places (call of functions, jumps) and then examine registry values, check flags. then you could execute program step by step to figure out it`s behavour.
