I wanted to start a new post about your finished fairy piece. What a wonderful stump job!!! Congrats! What type of finish did you apply to get that wonderful surface on it? One would hardly guess it's wood. The fairy's face that you complained about earlier has a pert look to it that came out hauntingly attractive. You are a master of your craft! Doc

Hey Doc

Thanks appreciated,
The carving has had one coat of Cuprinol preserver and one coat of Cuprinol natural tinted oil, its still shiny in the pics but has probably soaked in by now and will most probably be dull.
I will be going back to give it another coat of oil which should turn it a little darker still I suppose.
Since you made a post about it here's three pics where you will see the difference in coats so far,

Pete,
I have not done nothing more with the Mermaid yet, I'm a little busy and trying to fit it in between jobs, I may be there tomorrow, definatly Sat.
I reckon it will be the week after next before I can get it all finished, will post it then if it works out or not,
Thanks, Tommy
