Almost gave up hope on this one ....

Well, a couple of weeks or so ago, as I tired of making mushroom after mushroom, I started playing around one day and made a turtle. I wasn't perfectly happy with him, but he was ok for not having any instructions! After sanding, I set him aside to decide later what to do with him. Yesterday, I decided I liked him enough to finish him after having decided to put him in the fire pit a number of times ... something kept stopping me. So, Chaz painted on his eyes for me, and I finished him. He turned out a lot cuter (although pretty skinny!) than I had expected! So now I will share him:

Thank you, Bob! The expression in his eyes told me I could get away with the reversible sign! I've always loved those! I appreciate the compliment!

Doc, thanks a lot! That is a great idea! I appreciate the compliment on him as well!
Buzz, I wish! We are cranking out inventory, but it's all just sitting on our display stand for now. We had the owner of a little ceramics/gift store stop in a few weeks ago and wipe out our inventory.... sure wish she'd come back! LOL! Anyway, thanks!

there is alot of gifts stores find um, i carve becuase i could not get carvings i tried to avoid carving with a purple hearted passion. now i carve for my stores and other people,s stores i have other carvers sculptures too im not so conceded that i think im the best people love all kinds of styles. sometimes i switch my hands so my carvings will look different its like writing with your left hand ,trade carvings or buy some . one thing i have noticed in the carving world some people might do an awesome eagle and terrible bear or vice versa. also take a carving and put sold on it people are more out to buy thinking the one they like might be sold later also. it,s impulse buying you just have to trigger the impulse and making people laugh is very important. sometimes i do a bear with big butt and belly try one carve a bear holding american flag im a terrible carver but terribly creative good luck.
