Just a friendly reminder to those of you attending or wanting to attend "Chazfest" ..... the deadline to confirm your attendance (and thus be on the t-shirt) is swiftly approaching. We would like to have final confirmation by Aug. 20 on this so that the printer can get those going. I am aware that several carvers are hoping to attend but cannot confirm until much later and that is perfectly fine. It is an open invitation and we would love to see as many carvers there as we can, all are welcome. This is just a deadline for the t-shirts. Any carver who wants to come and is planning on camping at the fairgrounds (free, with restrooms, showers, and electric) or staying at the discounted hotel (call or e-mail me if you need that information again) should know that they are more than welcome to bring their families, we would just like to know in advance so that we have enough food for everyone, please. As of this point, we have room for one more carver to stay at our house, due to a cancellation, if someone is unable to camp or afford the hotel (sorry no kids at our house, we have big dogs). Also a little reminder, the deadline to book the hotel room and receive the discount is Sept. 15. There are quite a few of the confirmed attendees that have not given me their preferred t-shirt size .... anyone not doing so will receive a Large, so keep this in mind, please. And now just to refresh memories about how this will work ... anyone needing the full details that may have missed them can look through back posts or contact me. We are unable to provide tools, saws, and canopies for everyone so please bring your own. If anyone has extra and is willing to share, that would be great as we have some carvers unable to fly with their equipment. Electricity and water will be available at all carving stations and we are working to provide as many meals as possible, as well as discounts at the attending food vendors. There has been talk of someone bringing a grill, so if anyone wants to bring something to help with a cookout, that would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, Jerry France (Grandpa Elf) is now unable to attend so there won't be any walleye....Sorry! There will be 24 hour security on-site. There is also a possibility that the fair will be holding a demolition derby on the Saturday night during our event, which should draw some huge crowds and be a lot of fun for us carvers. I don't know yet if this is definite, or if we will have to pay for our tickets, I only know that they asked our permission. It would take place after our carving is done for the day. On that note, I will now re-post the updated confirmed attendance list, if you are on it and cannot come, please let me know ... if you are not on it and can come, please do the same.
