You are a fine carver already and I bet you develop a style of your own in no time. Looks better than any first bear that I have ever seen.

It's funny that when I first saw that bear, which is terrific by the the way, I said to myself, "That looks like a Rick Nasby bear". Take that as a compliment. Great job.

Myles, your off to a good start. I see your dads influence on your bear and I like your dads bears. I met your dad and Ingrid in Brown county a few years ago.

your doing great i like the bears mouth , the only part is you can use your carving saw to round your bears ears . draw them on first about an quarter inch cut deep then you can commit to cutting them out completely. other that that perfect bear im jealous

Inge is German and misinterpeted the comments that this bear looks like mine, and felt she had to defend Myles, aint that sweet. I've been trying to do Lynn Randalls stump bears for 4 or 5 years, since Ridgeway of 05 or 04. Nice of him to tell me I could. Thanks Lynn. So Rick N. bears are getting closer to being Lynn R. bears LOL...Thanks for all the nice comments on my student! Rick

Up and coming young artist ....

August 27 2009, 7:51 AM

Myles, it's really nice to see your work! You did a great job and we're both very proud of you! Since we've had the pleasure of meeting you, we'd like to share with everyone how very impressed we are with you, young man. Myles is a very nice, respectful, personable young gentleman with a lot of different talents ... plays a mean guitar, rides cows and horses, and is just all around a great guy. We wish you the best and hope to see a lot more of your carvings ... you have to practice for Chazfest! LOL! Can't wait to see you and Inge again ... until then, carve safe!
