Anyone know if the oregon sculptor bars are available yet anywhere? I called Oregon, and they told me they were availablle to dealers the end of July.

My understanding is they are made by sugihara. 10, 12, and 14 I think.

Oregon also has a new chain for the bars (25A) that doesn't have the bumper link. Although the new chain still has the full length cutters unlike Stihl 13rms.

Thanks, Bill

In looking at the picture, it look like these bars have a more traditional profile than the sugihara bars I've seen. I was sort of hoping for a more slender bar like the zenoah/suginara 12 inchers.

I heard these were made by sugihara but to oregon specs, so the previous sugihara profiles aren't relevant....

I have orders in for them but havent receaved them yet.

I was told they were made by sugi hara .....but was told by another source inside Oregon is making them them selfs. but the design is alot like the asian bars the drive link count seems the same as the asian bars ..... I am sure I will have many at RW this year.

I just got a callback from Oregon about the bars and they said one batch went out end of July and the next batch will go out to dealers in Sept.

She claims the oregon 25a chain is a new oregon chain, not made by carlton as some have wondered.

And she is says she is 99.9 percent certain (her words) that the new bars are made by Oregon and not sugihara. So I've heard that both ways. I think it was Bob King that posted in another forum that he's been testing these bars for a year and that they are indeed made by sugihara.

With time that will all sort out I am sure.

From their pictures, the profiles of the bars look more traditional than a sugihara. I was hoping for for a more slender bar profile like a sugihara for curves and such and when I want a straighter bar edge.

I already have a number of Cannons and am looking for more options in actual bar length, profile and bar weight.

Here's a thread with pics of the new bar.

I am new to the small saw thing, but I personally was hoping for a slender profile more like a sugihara. The new bars are even wider than say a cannon.

Just in case it helps anyone decide. You real chainsaw carvers perhaps like the more traditional chainsaw bar profile better than a more slender one, as you have more carving bar experience than me. I'm just a tool head and small saws are for now just for exploration/amusement.
