Chazfest morning meeting/ seminars

September 16 2009 at 9:13 AM

I am involved with putting together the morning meetings/ seminars for Chazfest. The concept is to have a kind of open sharing time on carving topics. All are invited to share their knowledge and methods. If you would like to do a presentation or have something you would like to see discussed please feel free to post here or contact me at backwater2@yahoo.com .

I believe that Chazfest will be a great opportunity to meet other chainsaw carvers, learn and have fun. We have new carvers (like me) right thru to international superstars coming, it will be a blast!

I will be talking about how I make patterns and lifting and holding devices I use and have made. I invite you to send me pictures, sketches or devices to help me with these topics.

I only have a little projector and need to have anything to be projected reduced to 5" by 5". So unless we can find another projector please send me anything you want projected to resize before this Sunday.

My function is only to help you enjoy the morning meetings and can use all the help I can get.

Some topics that might be good?..
good sellers
putting on a good show
keeping safe and healthy
different things I like to carve
Tips and tricks

What would you like to see or do?

Bob

Great idea, Bob!

We really appreciate you taking on this responsibility for us, it's a big load off our minds! I know that Dick is wanting to do one on his fire totems, don't really know who else. The public comes in at 8:30 so the seminars will have to be over before then. Yes, I know, it's early! Sorry! Thanks again, Bob, you are a wonderful help!

No worries Chaz.

September 16 2009, 7:42 PM

Glad to be of help. We don't hafta worry about getting up early as Sherrimc has been volunteered to stay up all night to get the coffee on early enough.

Dick Tilly is also going to show us about his famous Greenmen.

Wish you were commin too Joe.

If anyone has a flip chart stand they could bring along that would be cool. Also if you want to bring pics of your favourite carvings or first carving pieces (square bears) we could put them on a table or something.

If we want we could do something around the campfire at night?

It is my intention to make a small carving to give to a carver who can't make it. It will be something like my group piece I did for Angie at RW. I would ask that you sign it or help carve it if you get a minute.

Auditions will be held for The Mini Chicklets Chainsaw Dance and Singing Group. ( please provide your own chaps, spikes, fishnets and coconuts.)

Whoo Hoo!! It's gonna be fun!

Bob

Bob
I'll be bringing one of my ( 3th. Hand Log Stands/tm. ) to use and to demonstrate on. If your interested I could give a 5-10 min demonstration on how handy it is when carving the littlest, to medium size logs. Ya know the logs ya cant get the wife to hold for ya anymore. LOL
I sale um for 160 bucks, plus shipping. There smaller then the original log stand that sold for 245$ but just as versatile and strong.
If not, no big deal I'll be using it all weekend so everyone thats interested would still beable to see it in use. Or try it out if anyone likes too.
See ya all there.
