Only a couple more coats of Spar varnish and this eagle will go out for delivery. This is my first soaring eagle and I'm pretty happy with the wings. I used diluted white paint on the head and tail which looks sort of like white-wash

I updated the above photo to a higher quality [non cellphone] image. This piece is for an elementary school and will be inside the main entrance on an elevated platform. Recognizing the promotion potential, i.e. lots of parents, I had a brass name tag made to put on it. "carving by Butch Elrod"
