This is a mythical creature only for me happy.gif
because the wood has mistakes, but that doesn't matter.
I like graceful mystical femineity.... I like to remember
on the books of fairy tales.. if i was a little child.

ciao from carinthia edith

I agree with Igor, I think. I can't read what he said but it sure looks like a compliment.

How lovely! Beautiful work Edith! That larger one, the wood has a soft, buttery look, was that just the wood or did you put a white wash on it. I love your style- keep posting!

the wood is a Swiss stone pine, it is a luck that the face is very bright. What is a
withe wash? On her arm and on the underside there is a breeze of colour because the wood has any mistakes wink.gif... therfore i must carve the other mermaid in larch

Swiss Stone Pine

October 10 2009, 12:48 PM

(White wash is just a watered down paint or stain)
Thank you for responding about the wood, the name is quite appropriate. Swiss Stone Pine, it really does look like stone. When I first saw your post, I thought it was stone until I could spot the growth rings, beautiful wood.
I love your delicate, graceful women you sculpt and your choice of wood made her even prettier.
