John cool carvings . your geting better. That looks like a blase king wood stove.I have one just like it . They can be tricky to operate. Mine burns slow &throws alot of heat but is pain in the ass to clean.Hows yours? Tim 55

You're improving, John

Glad you found your camera, sorry it's broke. We can see that you are following advice and trying to better your pieces ... it does show. You have come a long way since you started and we're proud of you. My favorite is the pelican, Chaz just took an order for one yesterday, and you've got one that looks pretty good! Keep trying, you're getting there.

Best of luck...R.L.

John sorry for my impatience. You spay black first then burn then wire wheel to get your darkes in the low spots. A torch only burn the highs. Your stump has brum marks with lighter wood underneath. This not a absolute just an observation

Good Job John...

A tip on the Pelicans...keep most of the bottom beak attached to the body..easier to carve, more realistic looking, and adds strength to the neck..

I learned this after decapitating many a pelican...ouch.

Keep up the good work.

meny good ideas lets see...
josh thanks for that idea i would have never thought of that
tim that wood burner works great now that i drilled holes in the door
ashes always seem to clog the vent in the back after a few hours of burning
and yes its a pain to clean
