http://www.flickr.com/groups/peterwolftoth/ This guy has carved a large sculpture for every state, he is just 5 minutes up the road from us! Pretty cool stuff! Hope you all enjoy!
Are you answering peoples internal questions again Chaz......... I just got back from Williamsport, PA. Where, I came across one of his massive heads in a park. I was blown away! I just came home yesterday - thinking - I gotta check out this guys stuff....... Wierd..... & thanks for the post.
Yes he was doing a piece here in Southern Indiana in the city of Vincennes 5 minutes up the road from us. We heard about him through our customers and friends, they said we should go check him out, so we did. He had blocked most out with a chainsaw and then finished with the chisels. He does pretty good work!
Do some more searches on Google and you will find a lot of his carvings. I was just by the one he did off Rt 8 north of Akron. That is where he lived for a while.I think he might live in Florida now.
He came to refurbish it at the library where a friend is a librarian. They said he's a real primadonna and no matter how hard they tried to please him he complained about everything. I like his work but he must have quite an attitude. Maybe we all should carve some great big heads and show him he's still just another carver, and that chainsaw carvers aren't people to scoff at. Hmmmmm... Doc
If you don't have any thing nice to say about someone you should not say anything at all!
I met this guy in So. Cal. twenty years or so back, even made the mistake of having
a conversation. ...That's all I can say!
I personally would not cross the street, let alone drive!
The city of Lansing protected him from accusations of messing around with a 14 year old. The police were told as well as many other officials of the city to leave him alone he's a reown artist and donating this sculpture to our city. I guess a 14 year is a small price to pay for a sculpture. The lady now is still infatuated with him and goes to see him to this day with a husband and children of her own. He is full of himself and thinks he's way better than he is. I didn't know this info until after I had put him and her up in our house while he was working to restore the sculpture here in Lansing. He was living out of his truck inside of the Zoo at the time. They gave him money for a room but he kept it and stayed on the grounds anyway. So me and friend working for the Zoo at the time helped him out to get him on his way down the road to the next town. The Zoo was releived to get him off the property.
