French Carver

Last summer I had the pleasure of meeting a carver from France . He and his wife rode up to my place on a bicycle that he built for two. He disassembled it and flew to Los Angeles , where he assembled it and they rode it all the way to Oregon! They happened by my place and stopped to watch me carve. He then mentioned that he was a carver also and had never carved with any one else or met another carver. I then gave him the grand tour. After a beer he asked if he could come back in a week and stay for and carve for a couple days. I agreed and he did show a few days later and we had a great time carving morning till night .
These are a couple of the things that he carved. Once I turned him on to carving with a die grinder and a flame style burr. Could not get enough
His name is Guillaume Varet from Villevaleix France

Brian no pics of the bike .. Wish I had taken some . Giem actually designed and built the bike for the trip It was wild looking the front seat sat much lower than the back one so the 2nd person had as good a view as the person sitting in the front.

Looks like a fun time Tom. Nice to be reminded what we do is more than just a job, when people want to spend their vacation time doing it.
