Hi,
I'm a beginner carver and I'm looking for an all around good saw. Do you guys think that the husqvarna 240 would be a good option?
Thanks!

consumer saws, pro-sumer saws, pro saws
You get what you pay for.

If you are planning to put a 1/4 pitch carving bar on the saw your choices are limited to those saws that can be adapted.
The 240 is a "disposable" consumer saw. Repairing is often more than the original cost.

The 240 can be adapted for carving.

If you want to start out with a Husky, I run these, pay a couple extra bucks and get the 543xp with the 12" dime tip. You'll be much happier than buying a cheaper under powered saw that may break down more often. When you start out with a quality tool, it makes it much easier to learn. Your confidence will develop faster so you won't be quite as frustrated happy.gif
