Don Colp Masterpiece!

Hi, I own a life size Fox carved by Don Colp. Its titled The Fox and signed D. Colp. Carved out of blood red wood, I'm guessing redwood. I'm looking for any history on it? I did contact his son and he said it was an original. My son used to sit on it when he was a baby and now its up out of the way. Its in perfect shape and a master piece! I'm guessing its from the 70's, it looks like a very special piece that he took a lot of time to make. I'm not a carver but someone should make a historical web site for past carvers and current carvers, I wouldn't trade this piece for any small duck carving!

Historical Carvings

There is a logging museum/restaurant in the North Coast Mountains of Oregon, called Camp 18. Been there 40 years or so. Quite a few carvings from people of note...the Colps, Susan Miller, many more...one of the best was a 20' tall Giraffe made by flipping a (4) forked tree upside down to get the legs...It was onsite even prior to the structure being completed.
