dear rob,
hello, my name is cindy marshburn and my son drew marshburn is entering into the middle school this fall. he is very excited about the band program and he has decided to play the trumpet. there have been LOTS of 'rumors' that you will be the new band teacher. i want you to know that if that it the case i am very excited for drew! i am sure that all of your experiences and expertise will benefit my son. i also want you to know that many parents are concerned about how this will effect their kids ( many have older children that went through the program with the aldridges), they think because you are new that things will change drastically and possibly not for the better in their opinions.
i don't have any expectations since this is our first year involved in the band at the middle school. i feel that anyone that knows as much as you obviously do then my son will have a positive experience and gain some knowledge along the way. if you need assistance this year, if you even are the new teacher, please let me know and i will be glad to help in any way that i can.
