| Well if the surfaces aren't brought up to snuff then gaskets can correct. Note the following sentence from the Thunderchicken site:
"Super deal on skin packed copper sandwich type exhaust header gaskets for your small block Ford."
Note "sandwich type" description.
I have to disagree with the advice of carefully using a belt sander to clean up the surfaces. A much safer technique is to use a piece of sandpaper on a wooden block and sand by hand.
I agree that machining is expensive (but not for me as I'm a machinist), I purchased new rotors for the wife's B2200 a couple years ago for $17 each with my company's discount.
I like to resurface rotors on a flywheel grinder, as one can do each side independently and a ground finish is much better than a turned finish. Of course this is more work so might be prohibitive for a paying customer, unless the rotors were rare, obsolete parts. |
