Response to clarify
The only engines I have used this mod on are race.
Solid flat tappet and solid roller
I dont bush the lifter bores but only because there is no one here that can do it. I think wink's kit for diy bushes is a great idea but its not easily available in Aust. I do however restrict the oil feed hole in the side of the lifters on the right hand gallery to .030"
The reason for doing this and any oil mod is to keep the oil supply to the mains and B ends where it is needed in high rpm applications.
If you are not leaning on them hard its probably not needed but it isnt going to do any harm either.
I have a rebuild to do in the next few weeks. If anyone is interested I am happy to do a step by step run through of what I do, with pics.
A large disclaimer at the start though. My way isnt the only way to skin the cleveland cat, my ideas wont sit well with everyone, make your own judgement but I have never lost an engine through oil related issues.
