ram tubes & linkage progression

not sure where the comment went about the ram tubes but they do serve a purpose...

they straighten the flow over the boosters and eliminate turbulence over the air bleeds that can cause metering problems

but what is this 'soft' progressive, regular progressive all about?

i recall Holley used to use a ratio to describe how fast the secondaries came in on 4150 carbs, like .75:1

does soft progressive start earlier than regular progressive?
