| I posted a question on holley accelerator pump cams a while back about a new 3310 holley that i was trying to get tuned in on my 400. Im still having the problem of slight hestitation off the line when stomping gas to floor. I have only messed with it a few times since then but it is better than it was. I tinkered around with 3 different pump cams: green, pink and orange (all bolted in the #1 hole). The green one is what came on it from holley and has ran the best of the cams i tried. There is no slack in the pump arm and bolt that goes thru the spring. It may have a slight preload on it but the arm moves when the cam moves. It seems that if i let it idle for a few seconds before stomping the gas it hestitates but if i rev it up a little before putting in gear then stomp the gas it doesn't do it. The gas line gets hot even though i wrapped a heat sleeve around it from the filter to the barb where it splits off to the bowls. The intake is a offenhauser dual port spread bore intake with adapter to use a square bore holley carb. The carb is also getting a lot of heat off the intake. Im thinking i have a hot fuel issue or its loading up a little at idle before hitting the throttle. It just makes me think if it was the carb it would do it everytime. Does this sound fesible? I also thought about trying a #35 or #37 shooter since it came with a #31 from holley. Holley web site says hesitation out of the hole is almost always a shooter issue. Other than that small hesitation it runs nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks |
