It's time to rebuild the Holley 3310 again. I bought it as a remanufactured carb and this will be the third rebuild. No idea how old it is.
I was thinking about buying a nice new carb like a QFT 780SS. But they are over $500. Then there is transportation, import duties, VAT, a lousy dollar to euro rate and so on. So I ditched that plan.
It's going to be a rebuild again. I'm actually quite happy with the 3310 except two things:
-one of the secondary boosters is not completely centered in the venturi. It's not much but just visible. Don't know if this hurts performance
-changing springs usually ends with fixing a vacuum leak
I was thinking about buying a Proform main body. It would fix the off-centered booster. And I heard those are also used in the QFT carbs. And I want to buy a QFT adjustable vacuum pod. Together this would cost around $150 I guess.
Any experience with the Proform main body, good or bad? I think it flows a bit more than the 3310 body, but I have a 393C so that shouldn't be a problem.
