Looking for some feedback from anyone who has played around with advancing camshaft timing & retarded ignition timing on a Clevo.
I wanted to try advancing the cam timing to bring the cam on a litle earlier in a run.
2 deg advanced brings the cam timing to exactly what the Crane cam card spec is, the cam is a 528821.
I have tried zero,2,&8 deg advanced, I can go as far a 8 and still have .085 inlet valve to piston clearance.
The engine seemed to get lazy about 400ft with 8deg advanced, so I moved it back to 2adv.
I also wondered if I should try advancing the cam to get the half track times down, then pull timing out with the MSD in the top end.
