Response to couple of questions
...about different practices. This particular crank took 8 pieces of metal, so it's not for the timid. However, I like to internally balance for anything that will see over 6000-6200 or will be drag raced and this engine will fit both of those categories. I think there is less bending and harmonics in a crankshaft when the balancer and flexplate/flywheel are not weighted.
Remember, that even though it may not peak at 7000, shift points are still over the peak hp rpm.
This engine has a lot of potential and if he decides that he ever wants to switch from street/strip to full race, it wouldn't take much to get there.
