Hey fellas, Its been a while but I finally got my engine and drivetrain sorted out. Looking for a new carb, my 950hp is old and not very street friendly. WOT and idle is great but has a pig rich cruise. 3.5 power valve and 7-15inches of vacuum cruising I tried a 600 vac sec carb and it worked ok for cruising but i can't get it to idle very well without the throttle blades cracked way open and it doesn't have near the throttle response.

I have a 1970 Torino weighs 3500lbs. Lentech AOD with a 3500 stall non-lock converter. 9 inch with 4.57 gears. 10.89:1 compression. 9 inches vacuum in gear at 1000 rpm with Torker intake.

Erson E227242
Lsa 110+4
overlap 71 degrees
intake opens 37 closes 69
exhaust closes 34 opens 82
Valve lift .588 intake and exhaust
.026 lash
duration at .050 Intake: 242 Exhaust: 246
overall Intake: 286 Exhaust: 294
Intake Centerline 108

Heads flow 330 and 230 cfm at .600

Engine dyno'd 452 peak hp at 6000 rpm and dropped hard from there, turns out valve springs were only 302psi at full cam lift and I had a head gasket on backwards. Slapped some new fel-pro 8347's on and got new springs in that are 350psi. Should pull hard to 6500 and shift around 7k.

Car is 75% street. Short trips under 20 miles. I live in Southeast Iowa, so my "in town" driving is 1-2 stop lights the rest is all county roads at 60mph. Closest track is 1/8th mile.

So if you had a 600 dollar budget what carb would you choose?
