Response to timing?

If this is indeed a case of too much compression/too little cam and the ignition simply needs to be retarded to allow the motor to hot start, I would like to point out there are several ignition systems available that electronically retard the timing during starting, including one of the old Duraspark II modules. The Duraspark II module sold by SMP under part number LX-215, sold by Motorcraft under part number DY-250, identified by a white wiring block, retards the timing 18 degrees during cranking.
