Response to Mustang rear end options

there are no junkyard 9 inch or similar axles that directly bolt into your car -- pinion offset is your biggest concern -- you want the driveshaft to stay aligned and also they do not have the brackets to bolt up to your trailing arms-----

if you are replacing a 7.5 V-6 rear axle in your car the only option you have is an 8.8 rear axle out of a 1986 thru 1998 mustang ( all have traction-lok carriers) -- housings in these years are all the same width just use your axles and brakes from the 7.5 to keep the overall rear axle width the same.

if you want to move up to a 9 inch axle -- Moser Engineering , Currie Enterprises , Strange Engineering and others all have 9 inch housings and axles that will bolt right into your car. ---most are available from Summit or Jegs if you do not want to order directly from the suppliers mentioned above.
