Re: four bolt

Tod was true to the design. The original Cleveland 4-bolts had them on all five mains too. It was great for him to mock-up one just to let everyone see what it looks like. I know we can't see the obvious flaws that Tod catches when he maichines one, but it sure looks like a "Diamond in the Rough"!

New Cleveland right on!

June 9 2009, 11:15 PM

Ford has the new 1969 mustang replica, Tod has the block now if Blue Thunder would just build a new 4V heads it would be just like 1970 all over again. this is like a dream come true I quit wishing for this along time ago thinking we would never see an Aluminum Cleveland block.

and the damper is mounted in front of #1 so 4 bolting on all 5 is a good thing

The hint is the steps in the bores for the cylinder liners.

Well, I guess to sum it up, you could say, there's three reasons why there's so little crime in Mayberry. There's Andy, and there's me, and [patting gun] baby makes three.

Cast block

June 12 2009, 2:47 PM

It is a cast block - cast aluminum. Sand cores make the same pattern when casting - aluminum, iron, lead, plaster, etc. You may be thinking "billet" which is machined from a complete chunk of material.

Nice Hunk-o-Metal

When will we be able to put some metal to it? To say it as in a Pink Floyd song" I'm Waiting".
