I think you can find what you're looking for on ebay.

I believe all 351C, 351M, 400 and 429/460's use the same distributor.

some of those cheap distributors don't last as long as it takes to set them up.

not saying that all of them that style are junk, i'm sure there are some that are quality and last a long time but as with everything else, hopefully you at least get what you pay for.

one that i think may be quality is D.U.I.

Those HEI things are huge.

You don't know it until you get everything installed, but you may find yourself having to choose your carb and air cleaner to match the dizz. You may also find that the intake interferes with pokey-out bits on the dizz, limiting the ability to turn it. I experienced all of these problems when I fooled around with one on my 302. I pulled it, sold it and went back to my factory dizz with Pertronix.

Here is al alternative. Use a Duraspark dizz with an aftermarket performance HEI module. I have a Duraspark on my 460 and whenever the MSD box breaks I sub in the HEI module.
Instructions:http://www.bronco.com/cms/node/25
Have the Duraspark dizz tuned by Scott Johnston:http://reincarnation-automotive.com/ to fit your build. Simple, modular, looks like a Ford, room to work around it.

That's an excellent recommendation Tom. I had Scott Johnson do a DuraSpark for my 408 C motor and I used an old (new 1987) MSD Ford Motorsport Ignition module that plugs into the DuraSpark distributor. The Ignition kit came with a Ford Specific coil and it all went together by just pluging it all in. Scott set up the distributor pefectly for my engine, compression/cam combo. It runs great with just 8 deg initial and 28 total with my build. I just run the 1970 Mach1 over to start the paint/body work. I want it looking like a new car when finished in the original Bright Yellow with the Mach1 trim. It was the first road miles I have put on the new engine/trans/gear combo. Its so fast it's frightening.
