What springs and things?

January 23 2012, 5:01 PM

Pete, what springs did you end up using on the outboard carbs? What jets and power valve? I need to fiddle with mine to get it running better.

Tripower

January 24 2012, 6:12 AM

Hey guys, Blizz, thanks for your help! Mike, I will get back to you on the specifics. Let me talk to my carb guy. In fact, I will send you his name and number. If he can't help, no one can. Contact me through my website please,http://webpages.charter.net/pthangs/
This tripower was bought in '99 from a dealer in hipo Ford items. It has Corvette Tripower carbs and linkage both modified. The fuel bowls were changed to side hung instead of front hung because of the limited space between the carbs. The Corvette carbs were used because Ford carbs will not work. Mopar Tripower carbs should also work on this manifold. I learned a lot of what I know from Mike Brattlands webpagehttp://www.ford6v.com/. This intake ran on my Cyclone for around 4 years before I took it off and decided to sell it. If anyone has any questions just let me know. Thanks!

Pete, how did the 6v runout against a 4 barrel?

January 24 2012, 10:38 AM

I noticed your 6v manifold is a dual plane, should be good for the street.

I feel that it actually runs better with a 4v. It seems to be faster. It could be a combination of new tech and me not having it completely dialed in. Don't get me wrong, it ran fine on the street. I am just not a guru on carbs and it is a lot easier for me to work on 1 versus 3. Plus, I have 4 cars I am working on and the money would come in handy.
